Argentina national team is controlled by Argentine Football Association. The country is ranked in 4th position by FIFA.

Argentina has been very successful in the Copa América. The team has won the Copa América 14 times. They also won the 'extra' South American Championship titles in 1941, 1945 and 1946.

Argentina, Brazil, Germany, and France have won the three most important men's titles recognized by FIFA: the World Cup, the Confederations Cup, and the Olympic tournament becoming the only national teams to make the record.

Argentina is known for having rivalries with the countries such as Brazil, Uruguay, England, and Germany due to historic occurrences with one another throughout the history of football.

Jorge Sampaoli, The Coach

The team is currently managed by the coach, Jorge Sampaoli. Sampaoli has been managing the national since 2017. He joined the team on May 20, 2017.


Sampaoli's debut match in charge was a friendly match against Brazil on June 9, 2017, in Australia. The match was against Argentina, where the team made a 1–0 victory.

A quick, creative and agile player with excellent technical ability, Dybala is known for his dribbling skills, balance, and close control in limited spaces. He is best known for his ability to beat opponents and protect or hold up the ball for team-mates with his back to goal.

He has been nicknamed "La Joya" ("The Jewel" in Spanish) due to his creative style of play, pace, talent, technique and eye for goal. He plays as a forward for Italian club Juventus and the Argentina national team.

Lionel Messi, The Star

Lionel Messi, who is an Argentine professional player, plays as a forward for Spanish club, Barcelona and Argentina national team. Messi has scored over 600 senior career goals for the club and the country.

Messi holds the records for most official goals scored in La Liga (374), a La Liga season (50), a club football season in Europe (73), a calendar year (91), El Clásico (25). Also, he holds the records for most assists made in La Liga (149) and the Copa América (11).
