It's official! The most popular show of the 90s is coming back after over a year of rumors and anticipation. HBO's streaming service, HBO Max, will start streaming Friends reunion, called "The One Where They Get Back Together," on Thursday, May 27, 2021.

So what do we know so far about this much-awaited reunion special of the Emmy-winning sitcom? More details in the article.

Friends Reunion 2021: How Can We Watch It?

The Friends reunion can be watched on HBO Max starting May 27. The official YouTube page of HBO's streaming platform released a short teaser video on Thursday, confirming the date. In November 2019, The Hollywood Reporter had reported the development of Friends reunion featuring the whole cast and creators.

HBO then confirmed that they were working on an unscripted reunion special in February 2020. While it was set to release that same year in May, the COVID-19 pandemic halted the production. Matthew Perry tweeted in November that the reunion is set to start filming in early March, and David Schwimmer revealed that he was flying to Los Angeles to begin filming the special in an interview with Graham Norton in early April.

I’m going to Los Angeles. We’re going to be shooting the Friends reunion next week. I’m hopping on a plane this afternoon," Schwimmer said. In that same interview, he mentioned that the whole cast would appear as themselves rather than their respective characters. “I’ll be myself. I’ll be David. There’s nothing scripted; we’re not in character...although there is one section of it that I don’t want to give away, but we all read something.”

Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow also talked about the reunion during the Variety Actors on Actors segment. “We don’t know everything about it, we need to say. I think we’re meant to be surprised by some things as well..I will not be Phoebe," Kudrow told. “I will not be Rachel, although I kind of am. Well, we’re all sort of little fragments of them," Aniston added.

Additionally, many well-known celebs are set to guest-appear in the Friends reunion. BTS, David Beckham, Justin Bieber, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Elliott Gould, Kit Harington, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, Christina Pickles, Tom Selleck, James Michael Tyler, Maggie Wheeler, Reese Witherspoon and Malala Yousafzai will all be featured as per The Hollywood Reporter.
