Child

Biologically speaking child basically refers to a human being whose age lies between that of birth and puberty. Legally however, a child refers to a minor, a human younger than the age of majority who needs to be under the supervision of an older human. Metaphorically speaking, a child is an offspring of his or her parents, and will still be called a child, regardless of his or her age.   A child is supposed to have fewer rights, and lesser decision making capabilities and he or she maybe someone below 18 years old, or someone who hasn’t undergone some distinct rite of passage to be called an adult.
