Sarah Levy was born on the 10th of September 1986 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She belongs to mixed ethnicity and holds Canadian nationality.  

Levy is the daughter of an actor, comedian, producer, and director, Eugene Levy, and a homemaker, Deborah Divine. Her father is Jewish while her mother is Protestant.

She has a brother, Dan Levy, who is an actor, writer, and television personality. Levy's family celebrates both Christmas and Hanukkah.

Sarah completed her graduation from Branksome Hill. She later studied acting at Dalhousie University.

Sarah Levy began her acting career in 2011 with the role of Librarian in the action-crime XIII: The Series. That same year, she was cast in the comedy-drama film Larry Crowne.

Levy's next role came in 2014 when she appeared in the comedy TV show Working the Engels. Since 2015, she is playing Twyla Sands in the TV show Schitt's Creek alongside Catherine O'Hara, Annie Murphy, and Chirs Elliot. 

In 2016, Sarah guest-appeared on the CBS sketch comedy, series Baroness Von Sketch Show. In 2019, she played Kendra in the TV series United We Fall. The same year, she appeared in the TV show Best Intentions.
