Marton Csokas was born on June 30, 1996, in Invercargill, New Zealand to Margaret Christine (née Rayner), a nurse, and Márton Csókás, a mechanical engineer. His mother is of English, Irish, and Danish ancestry, and father is Hungarian. He was raised along with his younger brother, Robert Csokas.

Marton Csokas started his acting journey in 1990 in the New Zealand drama series, Shark in the Park as Terry Mercer. He got his major breakthrough in 1993 in Shortland Street which opened doors for his acting career. After a year, he debuted in the big-screen from the romantic comedy fantasy, Jack Brown Genius.
In 1997, he starred in Xena: Warrior Princess where he played the role of Borias. He rose to prominence after appearing in 2001 epic adventure fantasy film, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring as Lord Celeborn. His role was thoroughly popular among the audience.

Marton Csokas' Personal Life
Marton Csokas is confidential about his private life, he hasn't shared much about his love life. He is possibly single at the present but previously he dated an actress, Eva Green. They first met on the sets of Kingdom of Heaven and after a few dates, they eventually fell in love.
The duo stayed together for two years before their official break up in 2007. They haven't revealed the real reason for their split but it is believed their personal differences was the main cause of their separation.
Once in an interview, Csokas said, he wants to spend a day with Meryl Streep. He loves tattoos. Currently, he resides in Los Angeles, the USA.
