American-Cuban actress, Danay Garcia is well known for her role as Sofia Lugo, Whistler’s girlfriend in Fox’s TV series, Prison Break. Early Life And Education of Danay Garcia

Danay Garcia was born Danay Aguila Garcia on 5th July 1984 in Habana, Cuba under the birth sign Cancer. Her first name, Danay refers to the Goddess of Abundance in Greek. Her father’s family is of Chinese-Italian whereas her mother’s family is of Spanish-Cuban descent.

Garcia was interested in dancing from the very early age. She spent most of the childhood years in learning several dance forms including Salsa, Ballet, African Dance, Belly Dancing, Meringue, and Flamenco.

At the age of 17, she debuted in acting appearing in Eugenio Hernandez Espinosa’s Maria Antonio in a Havana theater production. After few months, she moved to the US to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. In the US, Garcia joined English and acting classes.
