In 2015, the father of Hillsong church, Brian Houston wrote a lengthy vlog post about the traditional Christain thought on gay lifestyle and it's marriages.

He further recited and wrote that: “Hillsong Church welcomes ALL people but does not affirm all lifestyles. Put clearly, we do not affirm a gay lifestyle and because of this we do not knowingly have actively gay people in positions of leadership, either paid or unpaid.”

Moreover, he clarified to the members of the LGBTQ community that they are heartily welcome to attend, worship with us, and participate as a congregation member with the assurance that you are personally included and accepted,” but outlined that they wouldn’t be able to hold positions of leadership within the church.
