Weeks after legendary basketball player Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna died in a helicopter crash, Bryant's wife, Vanessa Bryant, has changed the name of the Mamba Sports Foundation to Mamba and Mambacita Foundation, in honor of both her husband and daughter.
Vanessa Bryant announced the new name in an Instagram post sharing the new name and logo of the foundation. She wrote: " Because there is no #24 without #2, we have updated the Mamba Sports Foundation to now be called the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation" in the caption.
Bryant also added that despite the change in name, their mission remains the same. Here is the post:

Kobe Bryant, his second daughter Gianna Bryant, 13, and seven others died in the January 26 helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. As previously reported, the public memorial service is scheduled for February 24 at STAPLE's Center. Vanessa made an open invitation to Kobe's fans and followers through an Instagram post on 7th February. In the caption, she wrote: "#2, #24, #20 years as a Laker and the amount of years Kob and I were together â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ðŸ’œðŸ’›."

Kobe and Vanessa Bryant met in while she was working as a background dancer on a music video "G'd Up" by Tha Eastsidaz in 1999. The pair started dating shortly after and got engaged in May 2000, and they got married around a year later, on April 18, 2001, in Dana Point, California. Besides Gianna, the pair welcomed three daughters; Natalia, 17, Bianka, 3, and 7-month-old Capri.
