Singer and actress Demi Lovato is set to host a talk show on Quibi. The new series, titled Pillow Talk with Demi Lovato, will be tackling issues including gender identity, body positivity, and addiction, Daily Mail reported. Quibi has ordered ten episodes of the show.
The 27-year-old Anyone singer made a strong comeback to the spotlight with two performances at the Grammy Awards and the Super Bowl LIV following her near-fatal drug overdose in July 2018. She sang the national anthem in the latter.
Meanwhile, Lovato released a statement talking about her role and the format of the show. She said,
I've always considered myself someone that speaks honestly about issues that face my generation.
Lovato added,
We're excited to bring those frank conversations to a public forum, where people can have the opportunity to relate to the topics and guests while finding room for laughter and learning.
The singer is the latest Hollywood stars to join Quibi, an upcoming American short-form mobile video platform headquartered in L.A. The platform is set to launch in April 2020. As a matter of fact, the network has already got support from the Hollywood A-listers, including Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Lopez, Andy Cohen, and Zac Efron, among others.
According to an article on People, users have to pay $4.99 to access Quibi with advertising or $7.99 without advertising. Furthermore, the network is set to feature around 7,000 pieces of content at launch. Though most of the videos in the network will be short, the stories will tell long-form stories in a longer period.
