A man named Dmitry Baksheev and his wife Natalia Baksheeva were arrested on suspicion of killing over a dozen people and cannibalism in September 2017. The couple later confessed that they killed at least 30 women over the period of 20 years.
The authorities detained glass jars from the couple's house along with some frozen human body parts. The authorities went on to investigate their house after they got a lost phone containing several suspicious photographs.
In the kitchen area, the officers found "bits of food and frozen pieces of meat of unknown origin" which was confirmed to be human flesh after a forensic test. They also recovered the pickled body parts of their final victim, Elena Vashrusheva, The Sun reported.
The pair confessed to killing the girl, who was a waitress from a profession, "in a fit of jealousy" after Natalia believed she was seducing her husband.
