American TV presenter, Lara Spencer is best known for being an anchor of ABC's show, Good Morning America. Spencer also worked as a correspondent for Nightline and ABC News. Previously, she worked as a lifestyle reporter for WABC-TV and host of a consortium television news magazine, The Insider.
Spencer announced her engagement with entrepreneur, Rick McVey in January 2018. The couple married in September 2018. Prior to her marriage with McVey, she was married to a real estate broker with whom she shares a daughter and a son.

Lara Spencer was born Lara Christine Vin Seelan on 19th June 1969 in Garden City, New York under the birth sign Gemini. Spencer was born as the youngest among five children of her parents, Richard von Seelan and Carolyn von Seelan. Spencer has spent many weekends with her mother, bargaining at second-hand shops and garage sales. According to Spencer, her mother was a creative woman who re-imagined each piece and turned it into something artistic.
Spencer attended Garden City High School on Island. Later, she joined Penn State University on an athletic scholarship for springboard and platform diving which seems quite obvious when her nice and long legs are seen while she wears a swimsuit. In the later 90s, she earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Initially, Lara Spencer went into the NBC page programs where she volunteered the work so that to gain experience. Spencer then earned a job at the CBS affiliate WDEF-TV in Tennesse as various posts like a producer, reporter, cameraman, and editor.
The following year, Spencer joined News 12 Long Island and later anchored the 3 AM newscast for WABC-RV. Her career's big break came after she covered the TWA Flight 800 crash.
In 1999, Spencer started working as a national correspondent in ABC's Good America which is one of her notable works. She did not go to waste when she was elevated to the GMA team and is now holding the same title as fellow Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos.
During Spencer’s diving career she was nationally ranked and also led her team as a captain during her senior year. The same year in 1991 Spencer was named All American Athlete and she proudly graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.

In 2004 Spencer got a big break when she was asked to host the popular PBS television series Antiques Roadshow. For two years Spencer hosted the program and she is mostly known for that.
Along with being a host and TV presenter, she also worked as a creator and producer of the prime-time game show, It's Worth What? aired on NBC. She also produced shows which were based on her passion for interior designing.
Besides, Spencer published her first book, I Brake for Yard Sales in 2012 which is a guide on how to create high-end-looking rooms.
In September 2013 Spencer and Chris Harrison side by side hosted the 87th Miss America pageant at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey which was broadcasted on ABC on September 15.

Lara Spencer is a married woman. She is married to Rick McVey since September 2018. Lara Spencer married CNN Journalist boyfriend David Haffenreffer (real estate broker) on September 31, 2000, in St. Andrew’s Dune Church in a private ceremony attended by their friends and families. Their marriage was featured by Martha Stewart on her TV Show and magazine.
The couple shares two children, a daughter Kate Paige Haffenreffer and a son Duff Haffenreffer. Their first child Kate was born in 2004 whereas their second child Duff was born on 22nd January 2002.
After 15 years of marriage, Spencer and her husband announced their divorce in 2015. In an interview, they say,
After a lot of thought, care and consideration, we have decided to end our marriage. It’s a sad decision that did not come easily, especially because we respect and love each other and our children. They remain our top priority. We will raise them and care for them together.
Even after the divorce, the couple comes together for the sake of their children. After their separation, Spencer started dating chairman and CEO of MarjetAxess, Rick McVey after meeting on a blind date.
In January 2018, Spencer announced her engagement. The duo married in September 2018 in Vail, Colo. She wore an Adam Zohar Bridal gown and was accompanied down the aisle by her son, Duff Haffenreffer. According to E! News, McVey’s three kids also joined the ceremony. She wore the dress designed by an Israeli designer.
Her husband Richard Mitchell McVey is an American entrepreneur and CEO of MarketAxess-which operates an electronic trading platform for corporate bonds and other fixed-income products. As of September 2018, his company is valued at $7 billion.
McVey grew up in a suburb of Cleveland when his father ran an oil company and was an active stock investor. He is an alum of Miami Ohio University. He earned a BA in finance from there and an MBA from the Kelley School of Business Indiana University. Upon his MBA, McVey began his career in finance as a Eurodollar futures trader at Ameritrust, a Cleveland bank that is now a part of KeyBank.
