American actress, Heather Locklear is well known for portraying the character Amanda Woodward on the American primetime soap opera, Melrose Place (1993-99)  for which she received four consecutive Golden Globe and nominations for Best Actress – Television Series Drama. She is also popular for her role in  Spin City and The Return of Swamp Thing.

Locklear is married twice. She has a child from her second marriage. She is also well known for dating several guys from Hollywood. As of 2018, she is dating former AMA motocross racer, Chris Heisser.

Early life And Education Of Heather Locklear

Heather Locklear was born Heather Deen Locklear on September 25, 1961, in Los Angeles, California.  Locklear belongs to white ethnicity and holds an American nationality.

Locklear is born to William Locklear and Diane Locklear. Her mother was Disney Channel’s production executive of Walt Disney Company where her father was an administrative member at the University of California. Whereas, her father was a Colonel of the US Marine Crops.

Locklear grew up with her siblings, two sisters Laurie Locklear & Colleen Locklear and a brother, Mark Locklear in the Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks.

After finishing her schooling, Locklear joined the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1979, where she planned to major in psychology.

Locklear, however, had a busy schedule including modeling jobs and work in TV commercials, which didn't allow her to focus on her studies. Therefore, she dropped out after a year, to pursue her acting career full-time.

TV Series

Heather Locklear began her career with small roles in episodes of TV shows including, 'CHiPs,' and 'Eight Is Enough.' She later got acquainted with Producer Aaron Spelling, who cast her in his shows 'T. J. Hooker' and 'Dynasty.'

Her breakthrough came in 1993 in Fox's primetime soap opera, Melrose Place where she portrayed the role of ambitious and merciless boss of Alison, Amanda Woodward. The series starred Josie Bissett, Andrew Shue, and Thomas Calabro. She was a s sociated in the series from 1993 to 1999. Her performance in the series helped her to win TV Land Award and First Americans in the Arts.

Locklear made her comeback in the series from 2009 to 2010. She  also made some appearances in TV movies including 'Texas Justice' and 'Shattered Mind.' Her next significant TV appearance was in 'Spin City,' which aired from 1996.

One of her popular work includes 1999's TV series Spin City for which she was nominated for several awards. Locklear‘s latest TV appearance was in 2017 in an episode of the American TV series 'Fresh Off the Boat.'

Movies

Locklear made her film debut in 1984 American science fiction horror film, 'Firestarter' as Victoria 'Vicky' Tomlinson McGee. The film focused on a young girl named Charlie with pyrokinetic powers (the ability to control fire).

In 1989, Locklear worked as the wife of the Swamp Thing, Abby Arcane in sci-fi comedy film, The Return of Swamp Thing with Louis Jourdan and Sarah Douglas. The same year, she won Golden Raspberry Awards for her performance in the movie.

Heather Locklear's Personal life

Heather Locklear married twice in her life. At first, she married a Greek-American musician, Tommy Lee who is a founding member of the heavy metal band Motley Crue. The duo tied the knot on May 10, 1986, but the relationship did not last and divorced in 1993.

Locklear then married Richie Sambora, American guitarist, and producer, who is also well known as the lead guitarist of the rock band Bon Jovi for 30 years.

The pair married on December 17, 1994, in Paris. The husband and wife welcomed a daughter, Ava Elizabeth who was born on October 4, 1997. The couple filed for a divorce in February 2006 citing irreconcilable differences.  After a year later, the divorced was finalized on 2007, April 11.

On August 2011, Locklear engaged to American actor Jack Wagner, but it was called off in November of the same year. She also engaged Larry Porush in 2013.

Locklear dated several other celebs including, David Spade, Tom Cruise, Marc Mani and other. There was also a rumor that she dated Emmy Award winner, William Shatner.

As of 2018, Locklear is dating former AMA motocross racer, Chris Heisser. She posts several pictures with her current boyfriend.

As per some online sources, the pair attended the same high school. Like Locklear, her boyfriend was also arrested in Thousand Oaks for driving under influence.

Legal Matter

In 2008, Locklear was arrested for drunk driving, but no alcohol or narcotics were detected in her blood test which led to a conclusion that her driving skills were affected by the medications she took because of anxiety and depression. Photographer, Iskanian photographed the incident and sold it to TMZ.com for $27500.

Locklear's sister called 911 on 12th January 2012 believing that Locklear was in danger after taking prescription drugs and alcohol. She was then taken to Los Robles Hospital and was reported out of danger the following day.

The actress was again arrested in February 2018 for domestic violence and battery against a police officer. Later, she was released for $20k fine.  In June she was arrested on two misdemeanor accounts of the battery. After hours of her release from the jail on 25th June 2018, she was hospitalized following a possible overdose.
