Dakota was born as Hannah Dakota Fanning on February 23, 1994 in Conyers, Georgia to her mother Heather Joy who is a well-known professional tennis player and her father, Steven J. Fanning, who played minor league baseball and currently is an electronics salesman in Los Angeles. Dakota’s maternal grandfather is the famed American football player Rick Arrington, whereas her aunt is Jill Arrington who is an ESPN reporter. Fanning has a younger sister, Elle Fanning, who is a prominent child actress. Dakota comes from a blend of Irish, German, English, and French ancestry.
Dakota attended Montessori School of Covington and later attended Campbell Hall School in North Hollywood, California, where she took part on the varsity spirit cheerleading squad. She was also voted homecoming queen. She graduated from Campbell in June 2011. Dakota went on to join New York University. Fanning began as a child actor working in commercials. She got her first role in an episode of ER. She was then seen in a few episodes of TV series such as friends, Justice league Unlimited, CSI, Malcolm in the middle to name a few. She is currently in the process of filming Brimstone and American Pastoral which will both release in 2016.
Fanning was in a relationship with actor Cameron Bright in 2009. They broke up in 2012. After which there were rumors that Fanning was having an affair with actor Freddie Highmore. She is currently in a relationship with boyfriend Jamie Strachan. Strachan is an English model and is 13 years older than Fanning. She is not married till date.
