He learned to play drums all by himself
Josh was born in Columbus, Ohio and was raised with two sisters, Abigail and Ashley, and a brother, Jordan. According to Josh, his parents did not love his keen interest in music. So, he taught and learned himself how to play drums and also used to sneak down to the music store once a week and ask for suggestions from the people there. Former drummer Chris Salih introduced Josh to Twenty One Pilots
In 2011, Josh went to a Twenty One Pilots show when he was invited by the then-drummer Chris Salih and he eventually met the band’s lead singers Tyler Joseph. Then, they began to spend time together and build a strong bond. Later on, when Nick Thomas and Salih sequentially left the band, Dun quit his job at Guitar Center to play in one show with Joseph. However, the show was canceled after only one of his performance because of some police officers. Later, he officially became the band’s full-time drummer.
He loves to get
It is well known that Rosh has tattooed his body. He has a tattoo of a tree on his right arm which represents what he believes. When asked about what does that tattoo represents, Dun said that he prefers to tell people its full meaning in person as he does not want it to go viral on the internet. He, along with Joseph, also has an “X” tattoo on their body which symbolizes their dedication to their hometown fans in Columbia.
