Rob Lowe is currently working in CBS's series Code  Black which was renewed for a third season on May 14, 2017, and is scheduled to premiere on April 25, 2018. He will appear alongside Marcia Gay Harden, Raza Jaffrey, Bonnie Somerville and Melanie Chandra in the series.

He is also the voice of Simba in the Disney movie and series The Lion Guard since February 2015.

The 54-year-old Primetime Emmy Award-nominated actor recently completed shooting of comedy crime film, Super Troopers 2. The movie directed by Jay Chandrasekhar is set to release on April 20, 2018, where you will see Lowe sharing the screen with Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske.

Currently, the actor is busy in filming the TV movie, The Bad Seed alongside Mckenna Grace and Patty McCormack. He is also the director of the TV movie.

Lowe recently appeared in 2017 comedy film, How to Be a Latin Lover which collected $61 million worldwide and television series, The Orville. The series was renewed for the second season on November 2, 2017.

Lowe started his acting career from the 1983 television movie, Thursday's Child which also earned his first nomination for Golden Globe Awards.

Lowe eventually landed a role in the 1983 drama film, The Outsiders, alongside C. Thomas Howell and Emilio Estevez. The movie directed by Francis Ford Coppola was his breakthrough movie as he earned huge fame following the success of the movie.

Lowe again reunited with Estevez in the next movie, St. Elmo's Fire. They also become the member of Brat Pack, a name given to a  group of young actors who frequently appeared together in teen-oriented coming-of-age films in the 1980s. His other ventures in the 1980s and the 1990s are Square Dance, Oxford Blues, Class, About Last Night..., Illegally Yours, Contact, The Larry Sanders Show, and Great Performances among others. He also hosted the Saturday Night Live.
