5. Verne Troyer Was One Of The Shortest Men In The World
Verne Troyer was one of the shortest men in the world. Troyer who was born on January 1, 1969, in Sturgis, Michigan, U.S. had cartilage-hair hypoplasia due to which he was only 2 ft 8 in (81 cm) tall.
Cartilage-hair hypoplasia is a rare genetic disorder that clinically manifests by a form of short-limbed dwarfism.
Troyer who was raised on a farm in Michigan revealed that his parents never treated him differently than his other siblings:
"My parents. They never treated me any different than my other average sized siblings. I used to have to carry wood, feed the cows and pigs and farm animals."
2. The Cause Of His Death Hasn't Been Revealed
Troyer died at the age of 49 on April 21, 2018. The news of his death was reported via his Instagram.
"It is with great sadness and incredibly heavy hearts to write that Verne pa s sed away today. Verne was an extremely caring individual. He wanted to make everyone smile, be happy, and laugh. Anybody in need, he would help to any extent possible. Verne hoped he made a positive change with the platform he had and worked towards spreading that message every day."
While the cause of his death is yet to be disclosed some sources claimed he pa s sed away due to alcohol poisoning.
According to TMZ, Troyer was on some form of life support after he was hospitalized this month due to alcohol poisoning and being suicidal.
His family recently revealed "he was baptized while surrounded by his family." Another source also disclosed that he was very upset, intoxicated, and suicidal.
Earlier in April 2017, he was hospitalized due to alcohol addiction. He once said:
“I’ve been hearing from some concerned fans, so I’d like to address a very personal situation. As you know, I’ve battled alcohol addiction in the past and while it’s not always been an easy fight, I’m willing to continue my fight day by day.”
Back in March 2015, he was briefly hospitalized due to a seizure in an event.
3. He Sued TMZ, Kevin Blatt, And Distributor SugarDVD For $20 Million For Leaking His Sex Tape
Troyer's sex video with ex-girlfriend, Ranae Shrider filmed in Beverly Hills, California, and Shrider's hometown of Fort Cobb, was leaked in June 2008.
The 50-minute tape was released by porn broker Kevin Blatt, distributor SugarDVD and online site TMZ. The actor later sued TMZ, Blatt, and SugarDVD, for $20 million for an invasion of privacy and copyright infringement.
TMZ revealed that Shrider was the one who leaked the sex tape. Shrider claimed that the video was taken in her video equipment so she had partial rights.

Reportedly, Troyer filed for an annulment the next day of his marriage to model Genevieve Gallen on February 22, 2004.
The actor and his lawyer denied that the pair had no formal wedding plans saying:

Though they got engaged in summer of 2003, he claimed that they never made ''formal wedding plans''.
