Siobhan Finneran, an English TV and film actress, is known for her numerous films, TV series and theaters. 
She has appeared in various films and TV series including Boy A, Coronation Street, Downtown Abbey and Unforgiven.
She currently appears in the British soap opera Happy Valley alongside Sarah Lancashire in the lead role. 

Early Life and Career

Siobhan Finneran was born on 2nd January 1966 in Oldham, Lancashire. She was born to immigrant Irish parents. She was fascinated by a performance of the celebrated English comedian Eric Morecambe during her childhood days. Later, she studied theater course and started performing in several college plays. 

Siobhan Finneran got her first major role as an actress in the 1986 film named Rita, Sue and Bob Too as character Rita. Then she appeared in the TV series Coronation Street as character Josie Philips.

Siobhan Finneran appeared in this series from 1989 to 1990. Siobhan then went on to act in TV series Motormouth as character Milly from 1991 to 1992, thus appearing in 32 episodes.

Then in 1998, she appeared in TV series named Emmerdale as character Heather Hutchinson. She went on to be seen in many TV series but only in a few or one of their episodes. In 2001 she appeared in 3 episodes of TV series Bob and Rose as character Marina Marquess.

In 2002, she featured in TV film Shipman as character Kathleen Adamski. In the same year, she appeared in another TV Film named Sparkhouse as character Sue Bolton. Then, she was seen as small roles in various British TV series. In 2004, she was seen in the TV film named Passer as character Helen Keyes.

In 2007, she was cast in the TV series Benidorm as character Janice Garvey. She then appeared in 44 episodes of Benidorm as Janice. A year later she appeared as character Sister Ruth in 5 episodes of TV series Apparitions.

The subsequently in 2010 she was cast as character Sarah O’Brien in TV series Downton Abbey. She appeared in 25 of its episodes from 2010 to 2013 and then finally left to spend more time with her family and especially kids.

Siobhan Finneran is most noted for her work in Downton Abbey. She appeared from first to the third season of the Downtown Abbey alongside Hugh Bonneville, Jessica Brown Findley, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter and other stars. 

In 2013, she was seen as the main role in TV series The Syndicate as character Mandy Atkinson. Later in the same year, she was cast in The Selfish Giant which made her more recognized in the British cinema. In 2014, she was cast in the TV series Happy Valley as character Clare Cartwright.

In 2016,  featured in two short films. In 2017, she appeared in the British drama film Apostasy, it was screened In the Discovery section in the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival.  

Personal Life

Siobhan Finneran is currently single. Siobhan was married to Mark Jordon from 1997-2014. The ex-couple share two lovely children named Joseph Jordon and Poppy Jordon. They lived together as spouses for nearly 18 years and divorced in 2014. 

Even after their divorce, they are raising their kids together. Mark is currently dating his Emmerdale co-star, Laura Norton
