Singer And Actress Tina Turner's Married Life With Longtime Boyfriend Turned Husband Erwin Bach
Tina Turner and her husband Erwin Bach are happily married since 2013. Bach who is German music executive is 16 years younger than Turner.
After dating for 27 years, Turner and Bach eventually tied the knot in July 2013 in a Buddhist ceremony held at Lake Zurich in Switzerland. At the time, Turner was 73 whereas Bach was 57-year-old. David Bowie, Oprah Winfrey, and Sade were some of the guests who attended the ceremony.
The singer wore a beautiful dress by Giorgio Armani whereas the guests were requested to wear white on the big day.
The 78-years-old twelve-time Grammy winner and her music executive husband first met back in 1985 at an EMI record bash in London. They remained friends for more than a year and later fall for each other. The longtime couple moved to Switerzland in 1994 and since then they reside in Switerzland.
Turner and Bach have been together for over three decades by now and their relationship is still going strong. Though the couple makes a rare public appearance, we can see they are happily married as there are no any rumors of their separation and divorce. They were last spotted together in 2016 while celebrating Bach's birthday.
The pair always has been in a blissful relationship and for them, marriage was just a formality. Turner in her 2006 interview with popular television host Oprah Winfrey talked about how much she is loved by her partner and how marriage is not so important for her.
‘People often ask me why don’t I marry, ‘I have love. I have a good life. I don’t need to interfere with that. For some people, marriage means “You’re mine now.” That can be the beginning of the failure of a relationship.’
‘Psychologically, something happens when someone says, “You’re my husband or wife. You can’t do this or that.” It’s about ownership. That freedom that two people loving each other and wanting to be together – and being able to leave if anything is wrong – is gone.
She further added:
‘Neither Erwin nor I feel the need to get married. We’ve been together for 18 years. What would marriage give me that I don’t already have? Marriage would be about pleasing the public. Why do I need to please the public if I’m already pleased?’
