Rebecca Hall is a British actress who started her career at a very young age. Due to her outstanding performances, she has won a British Academy Award for Best Actress and Supporting Actress. Rebecca has appeared in many blockbuster movies like Iron Man 3, The Prestige and Transcendence.    

Early Life And Education Of Rebecca Hall

Rebecca Hall was born on the 3rd of May in 1992 in London. She is the daughter of the founder of Royal Shakespeare Company, Peter Hall and Maria Ewing, an opera singer. She is of British nationality, while her ethnicity is mixed as her father is of British descent and her mother is of Sioux, Dutch, Origin and African-American origin.

Her parents got separated at a young age and divorced in the year 1990. Rebecca has five half-siblings; Edward Hall, a stage director,  Jennifer Caron, an actress, producer Christopher Hall, Lucy Hall, a set designer, and Emma Hall.  

Rebecca has attended Roedean School, where she was the head girl of the institution. She then studied Literature at the St Catharine's College, Cambridge. She, however, dropped out of the college before the end of her final year, in 2002.

She was very active in the theatrical scene of Cambridge and had also set her own theatre company during her time there. She also joined the Marlowe Society and has a history of working with Dan Stevens, from Emmanuel College.

Rebecca Hall's Professional Career

Hall made her professional television debut in the year 1992 in her father's own productions The Camomile Lawn, when she was just 9. She was offered her first feature film role in the year 2006 when she appeared as Rebecca Epstein in Starter for Ten.  

Her major breakthrough was in 2006 with The Prestige, a film by famous producer Christopher Nolan, where she acted alongside prominent artists like Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman.

Rebecca's fame reached its pinnacle when she starred in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, a comedy-drama by director Woody Allen. She was nominated for the  Golden Globe Award in the category for Best Actress for the film. She has also acted opposite Ben Affleck and Jon Hamm, in his crime film The Town.

Throughout her career she has appeared in several blockbuster movies like Parade's End, starring Benedict CumberbatchIron Man 3 with Robert Downey Jr. and opposite Johnny Depp in Transcendence.  

Apart from these Rebecca has appeared in other movies like Joe's Palace (2007), Frost/Nixon (2008), The Awakening (2011), Lay The Favorite (2012), Closed Circuit (2013), and Christine (2016).  

Rebecca Hall has also had a very successful career in theatre and has even won the Ian Charleson Award. Hall has made several theatrical appearances, performing in plays like Mrs. Warren's Profession, As You Like It, Man and Superman, Galileo's Daughter and Twelfth Night all of which were directed by her father.

She has also worked in dramas of other renowned directors like the Fight For Barbar by D. H. Lawrence, Sam MendesThe Winter's Tale and The Cherry Orchard, and Machinal, by Sophie Treadwell.

Rebecca Hall's Personal Life 

Hall is a married woman and is in a relationship with American actor, Morgan Spector. The duo met while working on the set of Machinal where they played as lovers. They married in September of 2015, in a ceremony held in Saugerties, New York.

The wedding was attended by many other celebrities including magician David Blaine, who did a few tricks and entertained the guests. She announced her first pregnancy in January 2018 but has not revealed anything related to her child since. 

Prior to the marriage, she was in a relationship with English director Sam Mendes, whom she met in 2006 while working in Starter 10. At the time Sam was married to actress Kate Winslet.

The couple later split in 2010 which opened doors for Sam and Rebecca. However, the relationship between the two was short lived and lasted for two years starting from 2011.
