Randall Miller is an American film director who became famous after he released his film Houseguest and Bottle Shock. He was even nominated for Cable ACE Awards and Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directing–Children's Programs. Randall Miller made headlines after he was sentenced to prison for a cast member's death, hence becoming the first director to be sentenced due to the death of his crew member.

Randall Miller was born on July 24, 1962, in Pasadena, California under the zodiac sign of Leo. People having this zodiac sign are believed to be dramatic, creative, self-confident, and dominant. His mother's name is Leona Miller who was an internist and professor at USC County Medical Center and president of the Diabetes Association. Randall went to UC Davis to study biochemistry where he played soccer and also took part from the college team.
After a while, he began auditioning for theater productions. When he was at the age of 19, he joined the Screen Actors Guild and at the same time, he went to Beverly Hills Playhouse to study acting.
He enrolled at UCLA so that he could better manage his coursework alongside acting school. Soon after he transferred to UCLA, he started writing plays and one-acts. He completed his studies at USC School of Cinematic Arts which was recommended by the renowned filmmaker and director Bob Zemeckis.

He started his career as a writer and director while he was still attending university. In 1993, he wrote and directed a short children's musical titled Marilyn Hotchkiss' Ballroom Dancing and Charm School which later earned him a nomination for Cable ACE Awards.
In 2000, he was again nominated for a Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directing – Children's Programs for the episode H-E Double Hockey Stick of Wonderful Word of Disney.
After that, he has written and directed many movies such as Bottle Shock, Houseguest, Marilyn Hotchkiss' Ballroom Dancing and Charm School, Nobel Son, Cla s s Act, and CBGB among others.
In 2014, he started directing his movie Midnight Rider, however, the movie was never completed after the working crew suffered serious injuries during shooting. Camera a s sistant Sarah Jones died during the shooting of the Greg Allman's biopic on a railway track which halted the shooting of the movie.

Randall Miller is at the age of 56 years. He is married to Jody Savin. Their marriage ceremony was held in 1999; they organized their wedding in a hurry after Jody's mother was diagnosed with rare brain cancer. Her mother died at their wedding night.
A few years after they got married, they welcomed their two children but their names are not revealed to the public yet. The happily married couple are currently living in Pasadena, California not far from where Randall grew up. Their two children go to the same school that Randall went when he was a child.
Why Was Randall Miller Sentenced To Prison?
In 2014, during the production of Randall's film Midnight Rider, Sarah Jones who was a camera a s sistant died in a horrific accident during the filming of a scene. Randall told police that he and his crew were trespa s sing on an operating railway line when the unscheduled train arrived and killed Jones. Randall took a pled guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the court.
He was sentenced to one year in jail and after his release, he also agreed some terms of probation that he will not serve as a director, a s sistant director or supervisor in charge of safety on any film production for 10 years.
