Neuer Uncertain On World Cup Status For Germany National Team

Manuel Neuer shows uncertainty whether he will join Germany’s squad in the 2018 World Cup, as he waits for a return to action at Bayern Munich. He has said his participation for Germany national team in the 2018 World Cup is still in doubt.
Being part of a team that swept to great victory in 2014 World Cup, the 32-year-old goalkeeper is hoping to help defend that crown for his country.
Neuer has been out of action since September, with niggling foot complaints keeping him on the sidelines. He has not played a competitive match since undergoing surgery in September.
Neuer has been back in training since early April but is yet to come back into the Bayern side and has just two domestic fixtures remaining in which to get much-needed minutes.
With time running out to force his way into Joachim Low’s squad, Neuer told reporters on his international ambitions at the launch of Bayern’s new home kit for 2018-19. He said, “I cannot say anything right now.”
“I feel good with the things I am doing in training right now, but there's no forecast. I have to make the right decision for me, for the team and Germany.
“It doesn't help when you're rushing this decision. I want to improve day by day, and I try to regain my fitness as fast as possible.
“The steps that I already made were good and positive. I try to continue that way. Then we will see if that is enough.”
Defending champions Germany will have the kick off-campaign against Mexico on June 17. They are also set to their further matches against Sweden and Korea Republic after being placed in Group F.
Still, the fans are awaited to see whether Neuer will play any part in those fixtures. Neuer, who has been described as a "sweeper-keeper" for his unique playing style and speed, represented Germany in two World Cups (2010 and 2014).
Regarded as the best goalkeeper in the world by pundits, Neuer has earned FIFA titles like FIFA World Cup Golden Glove in 2014, FIFA World Cup All-Star Team in 2014, and FIFA World Cup Dream Team in 2014. He has also earned UEFA Goalkeeper of the Year in 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2015.
