Luís Carlos Almeida da Cunha was born on 17 November 1986 in Praia, Cape Verde. His parents immigrated to Europe at his early age. He was raised in Portugal and started playing football there.
Nani was connected to Sporting Clube de Portugal from his first club, Real Ma s sama. He played outstandingly with the club and later he was sold to Manchester United in 2007. The Transfer was made for €25.5 million in which five percent was paid to Real Ma s sama.
