American dancer, model, and actress Madison Ziegler has now joined the cast of Steven Spielberg’s upcoming adaptation of West Side Story. She will be playing the role of a member of Jets gang. It is still not clear who she will be playing in the film and it looks like her dancing skill caught Spielberg’s eye.
Sixteen years old dancer who was among the 50 performers announced joining the cast of the most awaited musical.
Maddie, who started her dancing career in 2010, rose to spotlight after appearing on Dance Moms. She has also worked with legendary singer Sia on her music videos.
Talking about the cast members, Mike Faist will appear in the role of the Riff, the leader of the Jets. She will be starring opposite to Ansel Elgort who has appeared in the male lead role, Tony.
Seventeen years old Rachel Zegler has been acted in the lead role of Maria whereas famous Puerto Rican singer Ana Isabella will play the role of her friend and coworker Rosalia.
Rita Moreno, who won Oscar for her incredible acting skill in 1961 version, will be returning to the remake of Valentina.
