Actress Lena Dunham and musician Jack Antonoff's five-year-long relationship has ended, the representative for both confirmed their split to People on Monday 8 January.
The 31-year-old Girls star and Bleachers' musician, Antonoff, 33, reportedly separated their ways in December 2017, E! confirmed.
The couple hasn't made any public statement about their split but a source told E!,
Jack and Lena were growing apart and it just made sense for them to end their relationship where it was
They first met in a blind date set up by the Bleachers' frontman's sister and comedian Mike Birbiglia in 2012 and their first date went really nice that they started seeing immediate after. The guitarist told Dunham everything about him in his first meet, he told New York Times in 2014. Antonoff said,
because when you really like some, you want them to know everything about you
Speaking to People in June 2016, Antonoff said his relationship with his partner was going strong and described their relationship as, "trying to support each other [and] trying to find something new and exciting for dinner."
The couple sparked engagement rumors for multiple time during their five-year-long relationship but they never confirmed those rumors. They had vowed not to get married until the same-sex marriage became legal in all 50 states of the United States but they have now separated.
