Krystal Nielson and Chris Randone were trying to have a baby before their split! Yes, the Bachelor in Paradise couple exclusively told media that they were preparing for a child before the two surprisingly called it quits.
The Bachelorette alum, 32, told Us Magazine in August 2019,
She let it be known that she’s off birth control, and I didn’t know that.
Nielson, also 32, added at the time,
We’re going to spend the rest of the year just detoxing, putting good stuff in our body. We want to start trying for a family at the beginning of the year. So we’re just using the rest of the year to … get situated get our new home [and] take our honeymoon.
Noting that they were making sure they have a beautiful and healthy baby, Chris said that he and his wife had completed "full panel bloodwork" in preparation.
However, the baby plans ultimately dropped on Valentine's Day of 2020 when the husband-wife duo announced that they had ended their relationship after eight months of marriage.
In a joint statement to Bachelor Nation on Friday, February 14, the estranged couple said,
It hurts to announce that at this moment, we have mutually decided to separate.
Chris and Krystal became engaged during Bachelor in Paradise season 5 in 2018. The pair tied the knot on June 16, 2019, in a lavish star-studded ceremony in Mexico.
Bachelor Nation members Ashley Iaconetti, Ben Higgins, Jared Haibon, and Becca Kufrin were among the wedding guests. The Bachelor host Chris Harrison officiated the ceremony.
