An adventurer and traveler, Josh Gates was born on 10 August 1997 in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts, the United States and got his desire for exploration from his father who was a deep-sea diver.
His mom's family was in the UK, so Gates along with his parents used to visit there when he was a kid. Moreover, Gates also grew up watching his father globetrot to foreign places in the world. With all these experiences, it played a vital role in lighting Gate's passion for exploration.
