Joseph Morgan is an English actor and director popularly known for his appearance in the supernatural drama The Vampire Diaries and its spin-off The Originals playing the character of Klaus Mikaelson, The Original Vampire.

Joseph Morgan was born Joseph Martin on May 16, 1981, in London, England but lived the starting 11 years of his life in Swansea, Wales. He attended Morriston Comprehensive School and Gorseinon College, studying BTEC Performing Arts Course in Swansea, and returned to his birthland London to enroll at Central Speech and Drama in his late teens.
