A wow moment for American Idol! A contestant for the singing reality competition show, Jordan Jones, took the audition to a new level when he popped the question to his girlfriend Leaira Marie Houghton during his American Idol audition.
The lounge pianist, 26, of Scottsdale, Arizona, got down on one knee in front of the judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie.
He told the judges, "She's probably the greatest person that has ever been made."
Marie Houghton said "YES" and then the couple celebrated their engagement with American Idol host Ryan Seacrest and other hopefuls.
After the proposal, Katy told the pair, "We want you both to celebrate together," after which all three judges shouted, "You're going to Hollywood!"
Following the proposal, Jones posted a photo of the ring and flowers on his Instagram account, captioning it,
I have swiftly become the happiest and luckiest man across all of time. Te amo mucho, mi amor,” he wrote.
This is not the first time an American Idol contestant got engaged during the audition but in March 2019, music artist Johanna Jones got engaged during the Idol audition.
