Comedy refers to a discourse or work intended to be humorous, amusing or laughter inducing, usually portrayed in a theatre, television, film and stand-up comedy. Comedy can include satire, political satire, parody, screwball comedy, black comedy, scatological humor, sexual humor, race humor, romantic comedy etc. Theatrically, comedy can be considered to be a dramatic performance which pits two societies against each other. Comedy is basically an act targeted to provoke laughter by generating the feeling of sudden glory, shock, emotional seizure, and the feeling of superiority over somebody else’s foolishness.
