Jessica Simpson is a new mother!
The 38-year old singer and actress gave birth to her third child, a baby girl with her husband Eric Johnson on Tuesday, March 19. The lovebirds named their newborn Birdie Mae Johnson.
Simpson's representative confirmed the news to People on Wednesday. Further, the proud mother took to her Instagram on Wednesday afternoon to announce her baby's birth. She wrote, "We are so happy and proud to announce the birth of our perfect daughter," alongside a picture.
Simpson and her husband Johnson also share two children, daughter Maxwell "Maxi" Drew, 6½ and a son Ace Knute, 5.
Simpson announced her pregnancy in September through her Instagram. First, she teased her announcement writing "Surprise...." alongside the snap that featured their two children who were seen delighted to know they were having a sibling.
Shortly after, she posted another photo of her two kids surrounded by pink balloons and wrote "This little baby girl will make us a family of five," in the caption.
Talking to People in October 2018, Simpson opened up how her children were interested in talking about their new sibling. Simpson told, "the question I get on the daily from Maxwell and Ace are hilarious."
She further told,
They want to know every detail-like how milk comes out of Mommy, how the baby will actually get here and if my belly button is a speaker to communicate with the baby.
In January 2019, Simpson threw a baby shower that she called "Birdie's Nest" in honor of her upcoming daughter.
