Rohit has returned not out to the pavilion at an individual score of 208 from 153 deliveries while the Indian team scored massive 392 runs losing four wickets in 50 overs. Rohit 208 runs with13 fours and 12 sixes and an impressive strike rate of 135.95.

Rohit has been leading the Indian national team in the absence of Captain Virat Kohli, who has recently got married to his long-time girlfriend, Anushka Sharma. After the embarrassing loss to the Lankans in the first ODI, Rohit and his team have fought back strongly.

Rohit's last double hundred came against the same opposition on November 14, 2014, at the Eden Gardens in Calcutta where he notched up his ODI high score 264, which is also the highest score by a batsman in an ODI innings. His first ever double hundred came against Australia in 2013 in Banglore. He then became the third man in the history of one day cricket and in Indian cricket as well to reach the milestone after Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag.
