In the show, Jang confessed:
I’ve been lonely. I always wanted someone to talk to as opposed to coming home to an empty house and watching TV alone.
Then while talking about his personal life, Jang expressed his feeling to then unknown Yoo and shared he was falling for her. After Yoo's identity was disclosed, Jang not only searched for her online but even wished to visit her in China. He admitted:
I feel very antsy and I keep wanting to go see you.
But interestingly enough, the pair hasn't talked about their relationship after the show.

The rumors of their dating sparked after the two were featured together in the drama. Fuel was added to the rumor after the actor appeared at a restaurant which belongs to Park Shin Hye's mom. However, Park denied their relationship and explained:
We are like brothers and sisters on set and even hit each other. His mother likes me but Jang Geun Suk is indifferent. He never saw me as a girl. They all treat me as a younger brother.
She also revealed that they are just friends and love spending time together.
