They were said to have assaulted Samuel Chang, a 22-year-old man accusing him of behaving inappropriately while distributing candies to children.

As a result of the attack, Chang sustained a jaw and serious brain injuries that left him in a coma. By December of the year, Vitar and Molnar were charged with assault while Carpenter faced charges of causing bodily harm.

Despite facing the possibility of serving four years in prison Vitar managed to avoid incarceration by paying $2,000 to Chang. Furthermore, he was subjected to a six-month suspension, from work without receiving any pay.
