Melissa McBride

Melissa McBride is an American actress and former casting director. She is known for her performance on the AMC series The Walking Dead as Carol Peletier. She has also appeared in several other Television series and movies including The Promise, Lost Crossing, Deigo, Dawson's Creek, and Living Proof. She has won several awards and nominations for her dedication and acting ability over the years including Best Supporting Actress in a Drama and Top TV Actress. McBride made her screen debut in 1991 with TV commercials.

Melissa McBride was born Melissa Suzanne McBride on May 23, 1965, in Lexington, Kentucky, U.S. She is the daughter of John Leslie McBride, a businessman, and Suzanne Lillian (née Sagley), a lecturer. McBride had three siblings, John Michael (1957-1990), Neil Allen (1960–2008) and Melanie Suzanne (1962–2012). She is American and belongs to the White-American ethnicity. 

McBride graduated from the Richard J. Reynolds High School.

Melissa McBride started her acting journey since 1993 and made her appearances in the number of movies and television series. She made her TV debut in the 1993 American television legal drama, Matlock. The next year, she appeared in an episode of In the Heat of the Night as WPMM Reporter. 

In 2002, McBride made her big screen debut in the American comedy-drama film, The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys as  Mrs. Doyle, alongside Emile Hirsch, Kieran Culkin, and Jena Malone. 

McBride then made her appearances in the number of movies The Promise, Lost Crossing, The Reconstruction of William Zero, The Happys, similarly, her television credits are American Gothic, A Season in Purgatory, Dawson's Creek, Pirates of Silicon Valley, and many more. 

McBride has earned several awards and nominations over the years. She won Satellite Awards for Best Cast, Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress and was nominated for Gold Derby TV Award and Fangoria Chainsaw Awards in a Supporting Role among many other wins and nomination for the American post-apocalyptic horror television series, The Walking Dead.

She is portraying the lead character of Carol Peletier in The Walking Dead since 2010, alongside Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, and Sarah Wayne Callies
