Keeping Up with the Kardashian star Kim Kardashian is set to meet with the president Donald Trump at the White House on Wednesday to discuss prison reform and pardoning a first-time drug offender.
TMZ reported Kim and her attorney, Shawn Holley scheduled a meeting Wednesday with the president to lobby a pardon for her great-grandmother Alice Marie Johnson, who is currently serving life imprisonment at the Aliceville Correctional Facility in Alabama.
The 37-year-old socialite will first sit down with Jared Kushner, president's son-in-law before meeting Trump at the Oval Office to pardon Johnson, 62.
KKW has been involved in months-long talks with the White House representatives ever since she has been campaigning for Johnson's release. Kardashian first reached out to First Daughter Ivanka Trump and made a connection with Kushner, a senior advisor to the president.
Kim's husband Kanye West who has been regarded as a Trump supporter will also attend the meeting Wednesday afternoon.
Johnson was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1997 without parole for money laundering and drug conspiracy charges. The case became national news last year after Kardashian tweeted about it.
Alice has been so grateful to her great-granddaughter for what she has been doing for her pardon, and she also wrote Kim a heartfelt thank-you note for her effort-she could have even a great reason to write another one soon.
