Kenneth Cranham was born on 12th December 1944 in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. He was born to Lochgelly-born Margaret McKay Cranham and a London-born civil servant Ronald Cranham. 

Moreover, Cranham trained at the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, and also went to the drama school in London, RADA.  

Talking about his career, Cranham made his acting debut from the 1966 TV documentary, drama, The Great Metropolis. The same year, he also acted in the TV movie, Troilus and Cressida.  

In 1968, he appeared in the British musical drama film, Oliver! as Noah Claypole. The same year, he was offered to play Kid #3 in British comedy thriller film, Otley.

After that, Cranham got his first lead role, Brosch in British television films, Frederick Forsyth Presents: Just Another Secret before appearing as supporting roles in movies, Stealing Heaven, The boxer, Women Talking Dirty, and others. 

Moreover, he also starred in the number of television series such as Danger UXB, Crown Court, Shine on Harvey Moon, Heart of the High Country, Rules of Engagement, Without Motive, Rome, and The White Princess among others.  

In Addition, his another lead role is Bill Cullen in 2009 Dramatic Scottish feature film, Running in Traffic. Likewise, Cranham’s other notable roles in the movies are Prospero's Books, The Boxer, Women Talking Dirty, and many others.

As of now, his most recent appearances was in 2019 drama film, Mr. Jones, where he portrayed the character of David Lloyd George, along with James Norton, Vanessa Kirby, Peter Sarsgaard, and others.
