Democrat Joe Biden has declared his presidential bid ending months-long speculations. Mr. Biden who served as Vice -President to Barack Obama announced his run on Thursday morning, 25th April.

He made his announcement in a campaign announcement video where he told the "core values of the nation, our standing in the world, our very democracy, everything that has made America, America, is at stake." He further said, "That's why today I'm announcing my candidacy for President of the USA."

The 76-year-old democratic leader stands as the nominee against 19 other hopefuls that include Senators Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren.

Mr. Biden is the most experienced Democratic candidate who has served a six-term senator, two terms vice president. As per BBC, Biden ran twice unsuccessfully for president in 1988 and 2008. Again in 2016, he was tipped to run for the president, however, he ruled himself out after his son Beau Biden, 46, died from a brain tumor.

Biden will attend a fundraiser in Philadelphia later Thursday while on Friday, he will attend ABC's The View for his first television interview since the announcement. Likewise, on Monday, he will hold his first official event in Pittsburgh on Monday. The announcement comes shortly after two women accused Biden of unwanted touches.
