Jeff Emig is a well-known American former professional motocross racer who competed in the AMA Motocross Championships from 1988 to 1999. The 52-year-old racer was one of the top American motocross racers of the 1990s.

In 2004, Emig was also inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame. As of now, he is married to Jennifer Emig.

The former motocross racer Jeff was successful as an amateur racer prevailing in four championships at the AMA Amateur Motocross Nationals at the Loretta Lynn Ranch in Tennessee. In 1990, he joined the Kawasaki factory racing squad acquiring a 5th place finish in the 1990 125cc national championship. 

Likewise, Jeff received a contract to ride for the Yamaha factory racing team in 1991. And in 1992, he won his first AMA national race in the 125 class in Buchanan, Michigan. After that, Emig went on to win six of the seven nationals to earn his first AMA National Championship

In 1996, Emig came back to the Kawasaki team and had one of his best seasons in 1997. Moreover, he won 17 of the 26 motos that year, earning the 250cc motocross national championship. Apart from his professional life, he has also made headlines for some controversies.

Jeff Emig Was Arrested For Marijuana Possession

Emig was arrested for marijuana possession in 1999. After that, he pled guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia. Also, the charges for marijuana possession were dropped. But Emig lost his job with the Kawasaki racing team. In addition, Emig received his last major triumph just a few weeks after being dropped by Kawasaki, succeeding in the US Open of Supercross in Las Vegas. 

Furthermore, Emig has also suffered some injuries that forced him to leave his career. In addition, the former racer suffered a horrific crash where he thrashed a vertebra in his back and compound cracked his right lower leg. After that, he retired. Despite his retirement, Emig is still involved in motocross on several levels.
