Football Legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic Is Going To The 2018 World Cup Russia

Football legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic who stated that he would not be joining the Swedish national team for the 2018 World Cup, now looks like the Lion will be attending the event, thanks to Visa.

Ibrahimovic has become the new face of Visa‘s global marketing campaign, which will include a series of films tied to the World Cup, as per the announcement made on Tuesday.

In the ad posted above, Zlatan can be seen holding up a jersey to which he has changed the “s” to a “z” stating it’s been “Zlatanized.

On the new campaign, Ibrahimovic stated, “Of course Visa approached me to partner with them, I’m Zlatan. I’m the best on the field, and as the leader in payments, Visa is the best off the field.” 

Visa’s latest global marketing campaign is aimed at making all sports fans feel included in the tournament, even if they aren’t able to get to Russia to watch the madness unfold.

Ibrahimovic took retirement from international competition following the 2016 Euro Cup, but there has since been speculation that he would come out of retirement to play for Swedish squad in Russia 18.

The 36-year-old striker participated in the 2002 and 2006 World Cups scoring 62 goals in 116 games for his nation.

Ibrahimovic has played for the teams such as A.C. Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester United. He currently plays for LA Galaxy. He joined the club on 23 March 2018.
