DJ Khaled is an American DJ, radio personality, and record label executive. He has hosted the urban-based radio station and he is DJ for the hip hop group of terror squad. He assisted in the creation of the popular hip-hop albums including Me, Myself, & I by Fat Joe.

Early life

DJ Khalid was born on November 26, 1975, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He belongs to the Palestinian-Arab family and his full name is Khaled Mohamed Khaled. His parents moved to the United States before he was born.

As both of his parents were talented musicians, DJ Khaled became interested in music at a young age. His parents have been supporting him from his childhood which makes him more easy to involve in music. He is American for nationality.

The son of Palestinian immigrants, DJ Khaled spent the first years of his life in New Orleans, Louisiana. His family moved to Orlando, Florida, where, at the age of 13, he started to learn how to DJ in his supportive parents' garage.

Due to financial hardship, Khaled's family returned to New Orleans. While still a teenager, Khaled briefly worked at the city's Odyssey record store, networking with rising rap artists like Birdman and Lil Wayne and, to the dismay of his boss, running up the phone bill by placing long-distance calls to record labels.

Musical Journey

"Listennn...the Album" was DJ Khaled's first solo album released in June 2006 by Koch Records. "I went to Koch because I like dealing with the underdogs. The people at Koch are family to me, and they all work.

It's not like when you're dealing with the big companies and you have to find out who's doing what," the DJ said about signing to the label. The decision was on-spot for his album debuted on Billboard Hot 200 at number 12.

"We the Best" in 2007 gathered more artists such as T-Pain, Plies and Rick Ross in feature for his second album. "We Takin' Over" was at number 28 on Hot 100 and later certified gold by RIAA One of the singles from the very album. He helped other artists when he was not working for the next album.

"Victory", was released in 2009. DJ Khaled's fourth studio album was released in March 2010, featuring Nas, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Ludacris, Drake and much more. Unlike the previous ones, the album had low sales but still debuted at #12 on the Billboard 200.
