Catherine Keener was born Catherine Ann Keener on 23 March 1959 in Miami, Florida, U.S. She is American and belongs to mixed ethnicity.
Keener is born to Evelyn Keener and Jim Keener, a manager of Mattress store in Hialeah, Florida. Her father is of Irish descent and her mother is of Lebanese descent.
Keener was raised in Roman Catholic along with her four siblings. Her sister, Elizabeth Keener is also an American actress and brother, Michael Keener is Priest.
Keener went to the Catholic schools and joined the Monsignor Edward Pace High School. She then enrolled at Wheaton College, in Norton, Ma s sachusetts.
During her junior year at Wheaton College, Keener made her first theatrical production in Wendy Wa s serstein play Uncommon Women and Others.
