The couple revealed the upcoming arrival of their third child during their red carpet appearance at Emmy 2018, Monday, 17th September.
The 40-year-old theater and opera director, Hunter revealed her small belly bump in a yellow dress as she arrived at the television's biggest event with her husband of three years.
The couple is expecting their third child around a year after they gave birth to their second child, Hal Auden Cumberbatch. The lovebirds are also blessed with a son Christopher "Kit" Carlton in 2015, months after they got married.
As of Emmy 2018, Cumberbatch was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for his title role in Patrick Melrose. The award was won by Darren Criss for The Assa s sination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. In July, Benedict received his sixth Emmy nomination. When asked about his feeling in winning another Emmy nomination, he told:
I was in a car going home from East London where we’re doing some filming for a show about Brexit, and my phone just blew. I thought, ‘Whoa, what’s going on here, is there a malfunction?’ But then I saw, ‘Congratulations, huge love,’ and what not, and that’s how I found out. It was quite lovely.
Even though Benedict was unable to take the award home on Monday night, he and his wife are waiting desperately to welcome their third child. The couple first met on the sets of Burlesque Fairytales in 2009, when "Doctor Strange" was still in a relationship with Olivia Poulet. Cumberbatch dated designer Anna Jones for around a year after his break up with Poulet.
The couple reportedly started dating in 2013 and after over a year of the relationship, they became engaged in 2014, which they announced in November that year. two years of relationship, they exchanged their vows on the Valentine's Day of 2015.
