Inside Biography

Tran Jeong is an American comedian, actor and physician is best known for playing the roles of Ben Chang on the sitcom Community and Leslie Chow in The Hangover film series. He has been married to Ken Jeong with who twin daughters named Zooey and Alexa.

Early Life, Family and Education

Tran Jeong was born as Kendrick Kang-Joh Jeong on born July 13, 1969, in Detroit, the United States of America, to his father D.K. Jeong and mother Young Jeong. His parents were South Korean immigrants.

He was raised along with his sister Sara Jeong in Greensboro, North Carolina and in South Korea. He is of American nationality and belongs to white ethnicity.

Tran Jeong studied at Walter Hines Page High School where he played violin in the orchestra, was a member in the Quiz Bowl team, and was elected to the student council.

He later attended Duke University from where he graduated in 1990. He then received his M.D. from the UNC School of Medicine in 1995.

Career

Tran Jeong completed his internal medicine residency at the Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana and at the time, he was developing his stand-up comedy. He is a licensed physician in California but he no longer practices medicine.

Jeong made his acting and television debut with the role of Dr. Tang in an episode of the 1986 crime drama series The Big Easy, "Night Music."

He has since appeared in dozens of television shows such as Community, Burning Love, Bob's Burgers, Sullivan & Son, Dr. Ken, Fresh Off the Boat, Magnum P.I. and The Kids Are Alright.

He is set to provide his voice in the Nickelodeon upcoming cartoon series Wonder Park TV Show in 2019.

Jeong made his film debut with a small role of Kurt in the 1988 film Black Jaq. Later in 2007, he appeared as Dr. Kuni in the drama romance film, Knocked Up, alongside Seth RogenKatherine HeiglLeslie MannPaul Rudd and Jason Segel.

His other film appearance include Transformers: Dark of the MoonPineapple Express, Ride Along 2 and The Duff.

Salary and Net Worth

Being a successful Hollywood star, Tran Jeong certainly earns a huge amount of money from his television and film career. According to the Celebrity Net Worth website, Jeong has an estimated net worth of $14 million.

As for his salary, the actor has not disclosed what his annual earnings are. However, according to some online reports, he was paid a total of $5 million for his role in the 2009 film, The Hangover.

Personal Life

Moving towards the personal life of Tran Jeong, the Hangover star is a married man. He has been married to his wife Tran Ho, who is a Vietnamese American family physician. She is also a breast cancer survivor.

 

The pair became engaged in 2003 after dating for a long time and one year later in 2004, they tied the knot in an intimated wedding ceremony.

The husband-wife duo shares two children; twin daughters Zooey and Alexa, who were born in 2007.
