After graduating from college, Shotz began his career as an Assistant to the General Manager at Jujamcyn in September 1997. He left his job in June 1998 and started working as an Associate Company Manager at 101 Productions Ltd. He worked here for 4 years from July 1998 to July 2002.
Then he became the Vice-President of Film & TV Development for Cheyenne Enterprises in July 2003 and left the company after five years in October 2008. Later, He took the same position at Rifkin-Eberts LLC.
After leaving this company, he became a consultant for Hitviews in October 2008. The same month, he also became a partner at Flying Monkeys Entertainment.
He moved on to another job in November 2011 at Kairos Transmedia as Exec. VP of Spillwall Productions. Besides working at various organizations, he is also a founder of Hebrew Helpers which he founded in January 2005.
In September 2013, he became a partner at Outside the Frame Media and later in August 2015, he became a partner at T42 Entertainment.
Apart from this, he won the Human Right Campaign's E-Hero Award for producing an online video campaign against Prop 8 in 2009.
