The Fall Singer Mark E Smith Is No More; Dies At 60

Mark E Smith, The Fall's lead singer, has passed away on Wednesday, 24th January at his home after months of illness.

The heartbreaking news of Smith's death was announced on the Fall's official Twitter and the website of the band's record label, Cherry Red Records.

The Fall shared two posts on the Twitter where they wrote, "It's with deep regret that we announce the passing of Mark E. Smith. He passed this morning at home."

Paying tribute to the late musician Smith, the former bandmate Mac Riley said,

He taught me a lot about life and he taught me a lot about music

Riley, who currently works as a Radio DJ on BBC 6 Music, was on air when the death news of Smith broke

Mark canceled almost all of his shows in 2017 due to his 'bizarre and rare medical issues,' however, he managed to perform at the Queen Margaret Union in Glasgow in November 2017 which happens to be his final performance.
