Ivory Coast

Ivory Coast or Cote d’Ivoire is a country situated in West Africa officially known as Republic of Cote d’Ivoire. The nation stands with the motto of Unity-Discipline-Work. It occupies the total land area of 322,463 sq km. Cote d’Ivoire was colonized by France before 1960. It shares its border with Liberia, Guinea, Mali, Burkina Faso and Ghana. The capital of Ivory Coast is Yamoussoukro. The people of Ivory Coast are called Ivorian speaking French which is their official language. Ivory Coast is famous for the export of cocoa beans. The country is under developed country having low ststus of infrastructural development. It has low life expectancy rate where most of the people especially female are illiterate. The country is suffered by the civil war. The most famous sport in Ivory Coast is football. The National Team of Ivory Coast has been representing the nation to the world playing in FIFA World Cup since 2006.
