Stephen Colletti was born on February 7, 1986, in Newport Beach, California under the birth sign Aquarius. He is the youngest child of Lorilee (née Goodall) and Bruce Colletti. He grew up with his older brother John Colletti, and an older sister Lauren Colletti.

Colletti attended Laguna Beach High School in Laguna Beach, California, where he realized his pa s sion for acting and participated in the Junior Park Avenue Player's theatre program. Later, he graduated from the San Francisco State University.

Stephen Colletti started his career in the entertainment industry in 2004 after he was offered by MTV for reality TV series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County which followed the lives of wealthy teens. He again appeared in the show for the second installment but refuse to return for the third season.

In 2005, he earned Teen Choice Award nomination for Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County.

Colletti took a break of few years in order to complete his graduation and made his comeback in 2007 in MTV Reality Television series The Hills. The same year, The CW announced Stephen as major cast for the fourth season of One Tree Hill as Chase Adams. He altogether appeared in 57 episodes till its ninth season. 

In 2009, the TV star featured in the music video "White Horse" by Taylor Swift. His most recent screen appearance was in 2017 in Everyone is Doing Great.
