Sofia Vergara, born as Sofia Margarita Vergara Verga, is the name of a Colombian actress, comedian, television hostess and a model. She is popular as a co-host of the two television shows for Spanish language television network Univision in the late 90s. She is a very talented actor as well. Born to parents Margarita Vergara Davila de Vergara, a housewife and Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo, a cattle producer for the meat industry, in the year 1972 July 10 at Barranquilla, Atlantico, Colombia, Sofia Vergara is one of the most sensations and in demand personality today.
She has five brothers and sisters and owns the nickname of Toti. She is a devout Catholic and had gone to a private bilingual Spanish/English School called Marymount School Barranquilla.
Going further in her personal life, she was married at the age of 18 with her childhood sweetheart and best friend but the marriage did not last for long and within two years, she got divorced. The name of her first husband is Joe Gonzalez. They got divorced in 1993. As a fruit of their marriage, she has a son named Manolo born in 1992. She was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2000 for which she removed her thyroid and went through the iodine radiation therapy. She is fully recovered now but has been in the regular intake of her medication to control the symptoms of hypothyroidism.
