After the first crash, several other cars and trucks plowed into each other on the icy, snow-covered highway. Surprisingly, only three people suffered minor injuries in the pile-up.

Jim Perreault, the Muskegon native, was in his Chevy truck with his wife Sue when they spun out of control and stopped on the side of the interstate. He said, he then started to filming as other drivers struggled to control their vehicle on the slippery surface.
