Obama was 15 years old when that second term ended on January 20, 2017. The Obama family took a house and decided to stay in Washington, DC, reportedly so that Sasha could finish her high school years there.

Obama worked briefly at a summer job at Nancy’s, a seafood restaurant on Martha’s Vineyard, during the Obama family’s summer vacation there in 2016. Her jobs included working as a cash register, busing tables and prepping the restaurant before it opens for lunch.
